From May 11 to 13, 2023, the much-anticipated Shenzhen International Fisheries Expo (SIFE) 2023 was held at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center (Futian). As the first large-scale fishery expo in China in the post epidemic era, this year's Fisheries Expo, with the theme of "Fishing to the Future", aims to promote the innovation and cooperative development of the fishery industry. In this event, the "High Performance Blockchain Traceability System Support Platform", the result of the National Key R&D Program under the auspices of the Software R&D Effectiveness Laboratory of Nanjing University, attracted a lot of attention from industry experts and fishery practitioners.
The project is a collaborative effort by a team of researchers from renowned universities and enterprises in China and Norway, aiming to create a high-performance blockchain traceability system for cross-border fishery trade, and provide high-performance solutions and technical support for product traceability and quality assurance for the supply chain of the fishery industry.
In order to publicize and promote the results of the project and expand cooperation on the ground, the Chinese and Norwegian project teams demonstrated the "High Performance Blockchain Traceability System Support Platform" developed by the project to the domestic and international participants during the Fisheries Expo, which is capable of realizing cross-border full traceability of fishery products and safe storage of data, and ensuring the quality, safety and reliability of the products. Participants expressed strong interest in this innovative technology and conducted in-depth exchanges and cooperation negotiations.
Through exhibiting at the Fish Expo, the program has made the following gains:
Increased project exposure: By showcasing the project results and communicating with industry practitioners, the project has gained widespread attention and recognition within and outside the fisheries industry.
Expanded partner network: The project team established contacts with fishery industry practitioners who are interested in cooperation, laying a foundation for future cooperation and application implementation.
Explore market needs: In-depth exchanges with fishery practitioners enabled the project team to better understand the market needs and challenges, which helped to further optimize the project's design and functionality.
The participation in the 2023 Shenzhen International Fisheries Expo has brought valuable opportunities for the project, further promoting the project from scientific research to industrial application, and providing strong technical support for fishery industry innovation and fishery international trade.
