Introduction of the Computer Science Discipline

The computer science discipline of Nanjing University is one of the earliest computer disciplines established in China, and the overall level of the discipline has always been in the forefront of the domestic discipline for a long time; the first-level discipline of computer science and technology has been selected as one of the national double-first-class construction disciplines and a key discipline at the national level; the first-level discipline of software engineering has been selected as one of the key disciplines/advantageous disciplines of Jiangsu Province; the disciplines such as software engineering, machine learning and other disciplines have formed their characteristics and strengths in competing with international competition, which has produced important impacts both at home and abroad; the State Key Laboratory of New Technology of Computer Software has been awarded the excellence in three consecutive times of the assessment of the State Key Laboratory in the recent fifteen years and has been listed as the first one in the field of computer.

Introduction of the School

The School of Intelligent Software and Engineering of Nanjing University is one of the first schools established in Suzhou Campus, Nanjing University, aiming to meet the national strategic needs, cultivate innovative talents, develop and create a new generation of intelligent software engineering methodology and technology system, and in accordance with the idea of combining the development of innovation with the development of specialties, to meet the national needs of upgrading the innovation and supply capacity of the key software through the cultivation of innovative talents of intelligent software, and to promote the high-quality development of the national software industry. The school will leverage the advantages of computer science disciplines of Nanjing University, the platform of the State Key Laboratory of New Computer Software Technology, the advantages of the national characteristic demonstrative software college talent cultivation base, and combine with the needs of the development of Suzhou's advanced software industry, to build a new type of school with the foundation of software engineering and the characteristics of intelligent software.
