On May 23, 2023, the State Administration for Market Supervision and Regulation (National Standardization Administration) approved the release of the People's Republic of China National Standards Bulletin (No. 2 of 2023), which formally approved the release of the "System and Software Engineering DevOps Integration Capability Maturity Model" national standard (hereinafter referred to as the "DevOps National Standard"), standard number GB/T 42560-2023, which will be officially implemented and used on December 1, 2023, by the National Committee of Standardization of Information Technology and DevOps+ Research Laboratory, Nanjing University. Software Engineering Development, Operation and Maintenance Integration Capability Maturity Model" National Standard (hereinafter referred to as the "DevOps National Standard"), Standard No. GB/T 42560-2023, the standard will be formally implemented on December 1, 2023 for use.

"The DevOpsNational Standardspecifies the model and content of DevOps capability maturity and establishes a capability maturity framework, which mainly includes the classification of capability domains and the definition of maturity levels; and around the six major capability domains of project management, process improvement, support and assurance, product development, service management, and infrastructure, it defines in detail the capabilities belonging to each capability domain as well as the specific requirements of the practice activities that support different capabilities. It is the first national standard in the field of development, operation and maintenance integration, providing guidance for organizations to implement and evaluate DevOps.

The formulation of the standard has taken more than two years, and representatives of all participating units have conducted many rounds of open discussions on the background status quo, general idea, technical route and scope of application of the standard, and jointly promoted the development, improvement, optimization and application of the standard. The official release of the standard will certainly promote the standardization and vigorous development of DevOps in the software industry.
